Credits pay for bringing things into Bettership and for making things. Talking with the agents and practicing don’t use them. Adding a podcast, recording a course session, and asking Coach for a cheat sheet each use credits. Asking Coach about the session afterward, or running a rep on it, costs nothing.

What uses credits

Add a resourceLess for a short post, more for a long book or episodeShort article = 1/2 credit
2-hour podcast = about 4 credits
Live captureBy how long it runs1-hour session = 2 credits
Under 10 minutes = no credits
Maker Studio items (prompts, context packs, and skills)A few credits, more for a bigger item like a skillPrompt = 1 credit
Skill = 3 credits
Make practice materials with CoachA few credits, more for a review guide than a cheat sheetCheat sheet = 1 credit
Review guide = 2 credits
Chat with any agentNo creditsAny chat = no credits
Practice materials a playbook prepares on its own cost nothing. Each exact cost shows once the work is done, in Usage. A capture is charged once, when it’s saved, and its cost shows on the capture’s page. You can start one with any credits left. With none, it doesn’t start, and the app offers extra credits or a plan instead. A capture that runs out of credits partway still finishes in full, and the extra time costs nothing.

What each plan includes

Kept credits are spent before the new month’s. Starter also includes 15 agent conversations, counted apart from credits, and after those, talking with the agents needs a paid plan.

Extra credits

On a paid plan, buy extra credits 20 at a time with Buy in Settings → Account → Billing & plans, or when you run out. They’re spent after your monthly and kept credits, and they don’t expire while you’re subscribed. A pause holds them until you resume. When a plan ends, any left end with it. You can’t buy them on Starter, during a pause, after you’ve cancelled, or while a payment is failing.

When you run out

Nothing is lost. A resource that needs more credits than you have keeps its place in your Library and reads “Waiting for credits,” with what it needs. It finishes on its own once credits arrive, from extra credits, your monthly credits, or resuming a paused plan. There’s no need to add it again or retry it. Your Library stays open, and the agents and practice keep working, because they don’t use credits. To get more sooner, buy extra credits or change your plan.

Where to see your balance

Choose your name at the bottom of the sidebar. The menu that opens shows your balance beside Usage. Choosing Usage opens Settings → Account → Usage, which lists what each credit went to. Next: Ask Steward
