Install the desktop app
Download the desktop app from bettership.ai/download. Then:- Open the Bettership .dmg file in your Downloads folder. A window called “Install Bettership” opens.
- Drag the Bettership icon into your Applications folder.
- Open the Bettership app from your Applications folder. It opens on “Welcome to Bettership.”
Sign in
The same steps sign you in or, with a new email, create your account. You can also choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple on the same screen.- Enter your email in Email.
- Choose Send code. “Check your email” opens.
- Enter the eight-digit code from the email in Confirmation code. You’re signed in as soon as the last digit goes in.
- If the email is new, “Set up your account” opens. Enter your name in Your full name.
- Select I agree to Bettership’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Choose Finish setting up. A short welcome from the Bettership agents opens.
- Choose Skip if you’d rather go straight to Home.
Check capture permissions
Live capture needs macOS access to your microphone and to Screen Recording.- Choose Settings, the gear beside your name at the bottom of the sidebar. Settings opens.
- Choose App preferences.
- Find System permissions, near the bottom of the page. The Microphone and Screen Recording rows each say “Allowed” or “Not allowed.”
- Choose Open System Settings beside a row that says “Not allowed.” macOS System Settings opens on that permission’s list, where Bettership has its own switch.
- Come back to Bettership. The row shows the new setting.
