# Practice with Coach

> Work through an idea, practice it, and learn from the attempt.

Coach helps you understand what you're learning, practice it, and work through how it went when you tried it for real.

## What to ask

For example:

* “Help me understand the argument in this article.”
* “Give me a short rep using this feedback framework.”
* “I tried this approach yesterday. Help me work through what happened.”
* “Make me a review guide from these three articles.”

## Where to find Coach

In the sidebar, open **Practice → Coach** for a full conversation. While you're anywhere in Practice, **Agent chat** at the top of the window opens Coach in a panel beside what you're viewing.

## What Coach does

Coach explains what you're learning from your Library, your notes, and your Focus Areas. It tells you when it's drawing on knowledge beyond your resources. Bring a situation or a decision and Coach helps you think it through, or gives its own read when you ask for one.

A **rep** is one round of practice on an idea. Ask for one and Coach prepares it on the spot. Choose **Start the rep** on the card in the chat to open the rep in its own conversation. Coach runs the rep with you there and closes it with feedback on the attempt and one specific thing to try next.

A **playbook** is ongoing practice that Coach fills for you each week. Ask Coach to set one up, or choose **New playbook** in **Practice → Playbooks**. You choose what it draws from: a Focus Area, a collection in your Library, or a single resource. Coach chooses the practice inside it. You can ask Coach to change what it draws from, pause the playbook, or refresh this week's practice, which replaces what you haven't run yet.

Coach also makes **review guides** and **cheat sheets** from resources in your Library. Name the resources when you ask, or choose **New material** in **Practice → Materials** and pick them there. A review guide is for reading through to refresh what you learned. A cheat sheet is for keeping beside you while you work. Both are kept in **Practice → Materials**.

When you want a reusable prompt, context pack, or skill for your other AI tools, Coach offers to bring in Maker. Coach doesn't change Focus Areas. Instead, Coach offers a **Continue with Steward** card that takes your request to Steward.
